This article will help you find information about any Indian Company registered under the Companies Act, with the Registrar of Companies (RoC). A lookup in the company database can be used for Company Verification, Director Verification, Viewing Signatory information etc.
The Ministry of Company Affairs, Government of India, provides all Public information of all registered companies online.
The online information includes:
- Viewing the Company Identity Number (CIN) of the Company and checking for inactive CIN
- Viewing the RoC – Registration No. of the Company
- Viewing the details of authorized signatories / directors
- Searching for a company or LLP name
- Viewing all public documents of the company
- Verifying the Director Identification Number (DIN) / Permanent Account Number (PAN) of Directors
How to view the details of a registered company?
- Go to: https://www.mca.gov.in/MCA21/
- In the Quick Links section on the left, select: View Company Master Data
- In the window that comes up, again select from the left: View Company Master Data
- In the Company Name box enter the first few alphabets of the company name and click on the Search button.
- Choose the correct company and click on the link to select.
- When you click on the submit link, you will receive the entire information about the company.
What information is included in the Company Master Data?
The Company Master Data includes:
- CIN
- Company Name
- RoC Code (under which office registered)
- Registration Number
- Company Category (Company limited by guarantee / Company limited by shares / Unlimited company / Others)
- Company Subcategory
- Class of Company (Public / Private)
- Authorised Capital(in Rs.)
- Paid up capital(in Rs.)
- Number of Members (Applicable only in case of company without Share Capital)
- Date of Incorporation
- Address 1
- Address 2
- City
- State
- Country

- Email Id
- Whether listed or not
- Date of Last AGM
- Date of Balance sheet
- Company Status (for eFiling)
How to search for a company’s Company Identity Number (CIN)?
- Go to: https://www.mca.gov.in/MCA21/
- In the Quick Links section on the left, select: Find Company Identification Number
- Enter the information based on the different search fields.
You can do a search for the CIN Number based on:
- RoC-Registration No.
- Existing company name
- Inactive CIN
- Old Name of Company
How to find out a list of directors and signatories of a Company?
- Go to: https://www.mca.gov.in/MCA21/
- In the Quick Links section on the left, select: View Company Master Data
- In the Company Master Data Quick Links section on the left, select: View Signatory Details
- Enter the Company Name and CIN Number.
The signatory and director information will include:
- DIN/PAN Number of the Individual
- Full Name
- Present residential address
- Designation
- Date of Appointment
- Whether Digital SC Registered
- Expiry Date of Digital SC
